Sixth Conference 2011

National Round Table on Social Standards , together with the foundation “Friedrich Ebert “, office for Bulgaria , under the auspices of the Bulgarian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, held the Sixth National Conference on CSR “Corporate Social Responsibility and Career Guidance for Adults” at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” Rector Hall on November 29, 2011.

The main objective of the Conference is to raise public interest in the topic of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Bulgaria and to promote the benefits of implementing this concept in the field of vocational guidance for adults. The conference is the longest national and regional forum where the countries of Southeast Europe share their experiences in the development of Corporate Social Responsibility.

During the conference were shared best practices in CSR and create a platform for exchange of experience between business representatives, public authorities, NGOs and trade unions.

The discussions were focused on searching for answers as to whether and how successful CSR policies in the field of
vocational guidance for employed and unemployed contribute to the sustainability of the business in terms of global economic crisis, and as a result was expected to improve understanding of the audience benefits of CSR and how to implement the related concepts.

During the conference were given for the sixth time the awards for “Socially Responsible Enterprise of the Year” of the National Round Table for social standards in Bulgaria.

Awards were given to the following companies :

  • Holiday village “Duni” – category Tourism
  • Hotel “Samokov” – Borovets – Tourism category
  • “Pirin-Tex Production” Ltd. – category Garment industry
  • “Nikrom Veniar” Ltd. – Furniture and Woodworking industry

The awards were presented by Mr. Ivan Neykov, Chairman of BILSP, Mr. Hasan Ademov, Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament Labour and Social Policy Committee, Mr. Deyan Pushkarov, pre and Mrs. Petya Milusheva
